Ghanaian-Burkinabe international Ocansey Mandela grabbed his third goal of the campaign for Horoya AC in their 3-1 victory over rivals Elephant Coleah to emerge victors in the Conakry derby of the Guinea Championnat on Friday.
It was the fifth straight win for the Guinea Champions at the Stade du Septembre 28.
Horoya broke the dead in the early stages of the game when compatriot Baffour Sebe sent in a teasing cross to find Ocansey Mandela unmarked in the penalty box.
Mandela, 31 connected perfectly to node home the opener on the 3rd minute.
Guinea midfilder Morlaye Sylla doubled the lead for the Matamkas from a rebound in the 16th minute before Yagouba Gnagna shot one outside the box after he was set up by Alseny Camara to register the third goal with 15 minute left to play in the first half.
Moussa Kenendé grabbed the consolation for Elephants with a splendid freekick in the 41st minute to make it 3-1.
In the standings, the Horoya sits top with 36 points after 16 games with three more at hand.
Sebe and Mandela made way after recess as Enoch Attah Agyei and Godfred Asante were unused substitutes.
