Enterprising forward Welbeck Takyi was at his destructive best again to propel Tano Bofoakwa to a 3-0 triumph over Brong Ahafo United in the Division One League Zone 1 fixture on Sunday.
Welbeck failed to be on the score sheet but was influential setting two goals for Francis Maluli and Kwasi Sefah at the Sunyani Coronation Park to emerge victors of the Bono Derby.
The home side Tano Bofoakwa were the better of the two as Welbeck Takyi and Solomon Oblitey threatened the goal area of the away team with some decent efforts.
Minutes later, it paid off through Francis Maluli’s 14th minute breathtaking freekick few metres away from the penalty area.
Takyi was the victim after a push on him which resulted in the freekick.
Bofoakwa doubled their lead in the 25th minute from a scrappy play inside the penalty box with the final touch from United’s defender.
Welbeck with his second assist to locate Kwasi Sefah who scored from close range to register the third goal to see their tenth win of the campaign.
He has scored 11 goals in 17 games for his side and also earned his debut call-up to the Black Stars following his explosive campaign in the first round of the ongoing season.
