Legon Cities have announced Bashir Hayford as the club’s new head coach till the end of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season as he replaces Bosnian Goran Barjaktarevic.
The Bosnian has been sacked after just two games into the season, but the management believe his performance from the truncated season coupled with the games honoured into the season isn’t anything good to write home about – hence the need to part ways with each other.
However, barely 24 hours after sacking their head trainer with wide spread speculations on who the next coach of the club will be, ‘The Royals’ have moved quickly to announce the former Asante Kotoko coach to take charge of the technical area of the club.
Having coached, Power FC, Kpando Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko, Medeama, and Ashanti Gold in the local scene, Hayford has garnered a wide range of experience under his belt in the Ghana league.
On the international scene he recently resigned from his post as the Somalian national team coach after his contract expiration.
He has again been given thee opportunity to handle the Ghana Black Starlets and the Black Queens as well.
Below is Legon Cities full statement on his appointment.
