[GPL MATCH REPORT]: Bechem record first win after piping WAFA 1-0

Bechem United held their heads up high to pick their first win of the season by narrowly beating Sogakope-based West African Football Academy (WAFA) at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on match day 2 of the 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League.

The ‘Hunters’ fought from a goal down to draw one all against Liberty Professionals in their opening fixture while their opponent, WAFA, remained the only club to record a win on day 1 following a 4-3 win over King Faisal.

Hafiz Wontah Konkoni, who renew his contract with Bechem this week for extra six months grabbed the only goal of the game after 28 minutes of play.

The visitors had several opportunities to draw level but fluffed all of them, as well as the home side who came close to increasing their tally but managed to miss them.

Bechem pick their first win of the season and remain unbeaten after two games.

They will face Aduana Stars in their next league game at the Nana Agyemang Badu in a regional derby, while WAFA host Elmina Sharks at home.
