Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus will be sidelined for several months after he picked up an injury on his Champions League debut in a game Ajax lost to Liverpool on Wednesday.
Kudus made way for Netherlands international Promes Quincy after just six minutes at the Johan Cruyff Arena following a challenge with Liverpool’s Fabinho.
The club’s official statement reads ”Mohammed Kudus had to be subbed off after only 6 minutes vs. Liverpool on Wednesday.”
“Further examinations show that the 20-year-old has a meniscus injury that will keep him out for several months.”
Mohammed has been incredible for Ajax in the Dutch Eredivisie since his arrival at the club this summer.
The former Right to Dream product is officially ruled out of Ghana’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Sudan in November.
