Ghanaian international Kamal Sowah has been included in CK Akonnor’s yet-to-be released 23-man squad ahead of Ghana’s friendly game against Mali in Turkey next month.
According to media reports, the former Right to Dream graduate has impress the technical handlers with his performance and has thus earned himself a maiden call-up to represent the West African football power house.
Akonnor, who is yet to play his first official game as Black Stars coach since his appointment in January this year will be announcing his squad in the coming days ahead of Ghana’s friendly game against the ‘Eagles’ next month.
Sowah, 20, who is on-loan from English Premier League giant Leicester City has made six appearances for sister club in the Belgian Pro League, Oud-Heverlee Leuven – scoring one goal and making two assists.
The lanky midfielder helped Leuven gain promotion into the elite division for the first time after suffering relegation in the 2015 season.
Kamal will be making his international debut for Ghana come next month as they look to prepare for their doubleheader against Sudan in the 2021 African Cup of Nations Qualifier in November.
In other news, Isreali-based attacker Eugene has once again appeared on Akonnor’s and is in line to make his debut for Ghana.
