Burkinabé’s Traore set to join Aston Villa

Aston Villa are set to sign another African player in the form of Lyon striker, Bertrand Traore.

Traore, 25, is inching for a move away from the Ligue 1 giants after complaining at his lack of game time despite earning 21 starts in 35 appearances across all competitions last season.

With a below-average goal contribution of nine (four goals and five assists), the Villans are desperate to add more goals with club-record signing, Ollie Watkins, having already joined the 1982 European Cup winners for an estimated £30million from Brentford.

The Burkina Faso international is close to completing a £17million move with a medical expected this week according to Sky Sports.

The tall striker has played in the English top-flight for Chelsea in the 2015/16 campaign and after coming good at the backend of that season, finding the back of the net four times in 16 appearances under Blues interim boss, Guus Hiddink, he earned a move to Holland for a second time with Ajax Amsterdam, after playing for Vitesse Arnhem as a teenager.
