Ex-Ashanti Gold centre-back Yusif Mubarik has been heavily linked with a move to Asante Kotoko as he appears on the radar of the Kumasi-based club.
According to a media reports filed by Kumasi-based Sikka FM, Mubarik’s manager has has held talks with Kotoko over a possible transfer of his client as he declares his readiness to don the red jersey of Kotoko.
According to the report, Mubarik does not feel scared by the defenders at the club and is ready to fight for a spot in Maxwell Konadu’s team.
Mubarik, who joined Ashanti Gold in 2017 from fellow Premier League side Liberty Professionals ended their three-year marriage by mutual consent last week – making him a free agent to join any club.
Kotoko has lined-up a host of players as they prepare to compete in the CAF Champions League preliminary rounds and the upcoming 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
The likes of Shafiu Mumuni, Latif Anabila, James Akaminko, Mathew Anim-Cudjoe, Justice Blay and Emmanuel Keyeke, have all been pencilled down by head coach Maxwell Konadu as he seeks to show 10 players the exit door to make way for these players by cutting down the 38 players to 28.
