Obuasi Ashanti Gold head coach Thomas Duah has confirmed to the media his outfit is in advanced talks with Aduana Stars marksman Yahaya Mohammed over a possible transfer.
According to the club legend, talks are going on smoothly between the two clubs and he is confident the deal will be finalised in time as they prepare ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup preliminary rounds.
The Miners are looking to beef up their squad with quality signings ahead of their African campaign. This is in line with measures put in place by the club’s top hierarchy to go as far as the group stages.
“We all know the exploits of Yahaya Mohammed in Ghana football but we haven’t concluded the deal yet. Talks are going on smoothly,” Duah told Kumasi-based Light FM.
“We are camping and waiting for the approval from the government and FA to begin training towards our Africa campaign. All the players have been thoroughly tested.”
Yayaha’s experience in the local scene is one to delight for. His power, strength and mental fortitude has helped him compete for the goal-king year-in year-out and as well push Aduana Stars to be a title contender every season.
Despite the abrupt cancellation of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League due to the outbreak of the covid-19, Yahaya managed to bang in 11 goals in 14 games.
