After long talks with his parent club Real Valladolid in the Spanish La Liga – brewing enormous speculations in the media, the Saints finally triggered his £10.9m release clause to secure his services.
The 21-year-old shot himself into limelight since making his full debut in the La Liga – courting 31 appearances for the Spanish giant, scoring one and assisting one.
His marauding duties attracted a lot of clubs including Atletico Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, and French club Stade de Rennais who were willing to increase the player’s weekly wages, but opted to join the Premiership club.
Salisu becomes the second signing after Kyle Walker-Peters joined the Saint Mary Stadium club on a permanent deal from Tottenham Hotspurs.
