Hearts of Oak have announced they will not be needing the services of five players including Joseph Esso, Bernard Arthur, Abubakar Traore, Benjamin Agyare and Christopher Bonney as both parties go their separate ways.
According to a statement of the Phobian’s official Facebook account, the players have opted not extend their contract with the club and therefore decided to end their engagement with the continental club.
@heartsofoaksc management has met players, Joseph Esso, Benjamin Agyare, Christopher Bonney, Bernard Arthur and Abubakar Troare and thanked them for their services as both sides opted not to extend their contracts. We wish them the very best of luck in their respective careers.
This news comes as a shock to many Hearts supporters especially on Esso’s case when it was believed that the striker was in negotiations with the club to extend his contract.
Sources indicates that management representing Esso and Hearts failed to reach an agreement as the former was requesting for ¢50,000 for a year whiles the latter stood at ¢30,000.
For Agyare, Hearts is believed to be unimpressed his attitude and enormous advice from the club to desist from such behaviour have gone unheeded to.
Christopher Bonney, Bernard Arthur as well as Burkinabe’s Abubakar Traore have all fallen out of favour with the technical team and not in the plans of the head coach
Hearts is bent on putting their house together for the upcoming 2020/2021 league season and will look to bolster the squad before the season start.
