‘Spain is the best place for me’ – Mubarak Alhassan after signing for Granada

Newly signed Granada CF midfielder, Mubarak Alhassan, believes Spain is the perfect place for him to continue his football career after signing for the Spanish La Liga outfit.

The 18-year-old made this revelation after penning a five-year deal with the Rojiblancos on Thursday in an undisclosed fee.

The teenager’s amazing talent and skills, coupled with his excellent reading of the game have attracted a host of agents seeking to whisk him away to foreign lands.

Speaking for the first time after filling the dotted line with his signature, the former Liberty Professionals midfielder said;

“This is the best time in my career to work harder,” Mubarak told Citi FM Sports.

“Every [footballer] will wish for this opportunity so I think I have to play above myself and make sacrifices as well.

“I think this [move] will help me. It is the best every player will wish for,” he said.

Mubarak revealed how his playing style earned him ‘Aboabo Iniesta’.

“At a very early age, I relished playing for Barcelona or team’s in Spain because my playing style resembles that of Iniesta. That was why I was given that accolade.”

Alhassan further added that Spain will be a perfect environment for him to grow into the football world.

“I think playing over there [Spain], coupled with what I have learnt in WAFA and Liberty, as well as my playing style, it will help me more. Spain is the best place for me for now,” the teenager concluded.

After making his debut in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League, the ex-WAFA prodigy managed to score five goals in 13 appearances with five assist.
