Back from recess, On-loan Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster put the home side ahead with a cool finish on the 52nd minute to make it 1-0.
Ayew doubled the lead via a spot kick to take his tally to 14th goal of the season on the the 66th minute.
Atdhe Nuhiu pulled one back for the visitors in the dying embers of the game after mounting a fearsome pressure but his goal was not enough as Swansea sealed all three points.
The Black Stars skipper made a total of six assists in 39 appearances for his side.
Swansea City lie eighth in the Championship League with 60 points after 41 games.
