The National Circles Council (NCC) of Asante Kotoko has seen certain aspects of their activities temporarily withheld by an order from the Manhyia Palace.
The supporters front, headed by Christopher Damenya, have been engaging outgone CEO George Amoako last week over his salary arrears on how they can be cleared without any fracas, as well as carrying other activities meant for a team management members.
This posture seems not to have gone down well with Manhyia who believe those matters could have been directed to the Lydia Nkansah-led committee who have been tasked by the life patron of the club look into matters arising from the club.
Manhyia is thus not happy with how the NCC is leading the committee on, therefore the need to curtail those moves.
According to the Personal Assistant to the Chief of Staff at the Manhyia Palace, Kwame Aboagye Mensah, the NCC can resume normal activities after the committee is done with their work.
“Manhyia Palace has directed that certain activities of the National Circles Council should be put on hold until the Three-Member Committee finish their work because the Committee is working on institutional representation,” Aboagye Mensah told Kumasi-based Opemsuo FM.
“We are mindful of how the Circles operate in anticipation to better the focal status of the club, but we have realized that some of the things they are embarking on conflict with the functions of Management hence the need to prorogue certain activities.
“For their meetings, they can go for it,” he concluded.
