Secretary General of GWBF Wilson Agbesi lands top Minifootball position

The Secretary General of the Ghana Wheelchair Basketball Federation (GWBF) Wilson Agbesi, who doubles as the president of the Ghana wheelchair Minigolf Association (GAWMA) has landed an Executive Board Member position at the Minifootball Association of Ghana (MAG).

A letter signed by the president of MAG, Mr. Andrew Ako Nai stated that the para sports administrator and the disability advocate’s appointment took immediate effect from the June 10, 2020.

The letter stated boldly that Mr. Agbesi’s appointment as an Executive Board Member spans for a period of five years and maximum of three terms.

Per the letter, his roles include:

  1. To formulate strategic policies for the Association.
  2. To make recommendations, offer advice and assist in decision making processes of the Association.
  3. To review budget request and to make recommendations for allocations amount
  4. To formulate and enforce procedures which facility the development of Minifootball

Mr Andrews Ako Nai congratulated the new appointee and wished him the very best and as well adding all issues bothering on the financial rewards for the appointment will be discussed and addressed in the contract.

The appointment letter

The Lion as Wilson Agbesi is popularly referred to in the sports fraternity, confirmed his appointment during an interview with the GWBF Media Team saying:

Yes I have received the official appointment letter to serve on the board of the Minifootball Association of Ghana (MAG) and I must say I am humbled and as well thank the Almighty God for making it possible and granting me this great opportunity to once again contribute my quota to the development of Ghana Sports. My thanks also goes to the leadership of MAG for the trust and confidence they have in me and want to assure them of my total commitment, dedication, trust, honest, determination and hard work as much as the task given to me is concern, I strongly believe I can and Yes I can, focus and results would be my priority and that is the principle I will be basing my five (5) years stewardship with the Association as in my first term of office. Finally, I want to thank my family, friends, well-wishers and fans for their continuous prayers for me and once again want to remind them that I always stick to my principle with regards to work and would make them proud in the administration of Minifootball.

He concluded by calling on God to guide him and give him wisdom and knowledge he needed to succeed in the new position and as well asking all to remind him in their prayers.
