CAF discusses future of its competitions in an extraordinary environment

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, led by Malagasy football Administrator Ahmad Ahmad met last Sunday to discuss the future of its competitions two months after the African Football calendar began facing changes imposed by the Coronavirus Pandemic, kick442.com can report.

The outbreak of the global rife has led to the postponement of at least three rounds AFCON 2021 qualifiers games, the postponement of the women’s cup of nations qualifiers, the postponement of the CHAN 2020 competition that was scheduled in Cameroon last April amongst others.

It is in the backdrop of this that Kick442.com understands members of the executive committee of CAF met via video conferencing to take stock of damages since the outbreak of the Pandemic in early March and suggest a way forward.

Our sources say during the meeting. The attendees discussed different scenarios going forward for the CAF inter-club competitions.

The future of major competitions namely the CHAN 2020, AWCON 2020, and the 2021 AFCON was also a part of these deliberations.
