Young talented Ghanaian centre back, Mohammed Salisu, continues to attract interest from European football giants as French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes is believed to have joined the race to sign the Real Valladolid stalwart defender.
The 21-year-old is in the form of his life after making 27 league appearances in the La Liga on his debut season.
Salisu is believed to be on the radar of Atletico Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United as his buy-out clause is pegged at €12m.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Rennes is highly interested in the centre-back and is willing to trigger his release clause in the coming weeks.
This means that Atletico who have been leading the race sign the Ghanaian could miss securing his services. He is also believed to be a long admirer of head coach Diego Simeone who is looking at strengthening his defensive set-up.
