Wheelchair tennis team present trophy to GTF Board

The national wheelchair tennis team on Wednesday presented medals they won at the 2020 PNB Paribas World Cup Africa Qualifiers Championship to the Board of Directors of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF) in Accra.

The Ghanaians finished third in the eight-nation tournament with four medals as the women’s team sealed a spot at the 2020 PNB Paribas World Cup to be staged later this year.

The team, made up of Abdul Razak Nuhu, Daniel Laryea, Bridget Nartey and Stacy Konadu Mensah were coached by Philip Plange.

The Coordinator of Ghana Wheelchair Tennis, Henry Larbi briefed the Board about the achievements of the team during the competition and called for support for future events.

Receiving the medals, General Secretary of the GTF, Miss Philipina Frimpong congratulated the team and their technical handlers for lifting high the flag of Ghana during the competition.

Present at the event were the Vice President of GTF Mr Kwame Djanba and some members of the Ghana Wheelchair Committee, including Michael Adade, Yahaya Maculey and Jojo Abban.

Other countries which participated in the five-day competition are the host Kenya, Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Nigeria and Cameroon.
