Another match day beckons as the Ghana Premier League enters week 11 with six matches expected to be honoured at their respective venues.
Match day 10 was electrifying and exciting – producing 27 goals, the most since day 1.
Kotoko’s visit to the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park headlines week 11 as Aduana seeks to bounce back to winning ways after their 5-2 defeat to Liberty Professionals on Sunday.
Aduana Stars after being battered by Liberty Professionals 5-2 on Sunday at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman, are on a mission to put Asante Kotoko to the sword in their mid-week clash at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park as a means to bouncing back to winning ways.
The tension brewed between the two sides during their Premier League clash has been on the rise with reports indicating owner and life patron Nana Agyemang Badu II has promised the players a hefty reward should they beat the Porcupine Warriors.
The last 15 matches dating back to 2010 has recorded four (4) wins for both team with the remaining seven (7) ending in stalemates. 23 goals have been recorded in those games. Kotoko have netted 13 leaving the remaining 10 for Aduana to take-up.
In Dormaa, the Porcupine Warriors are yet to record a single win from their seven (7) visits – picking only three (3) draws and suffering four (4) defeats. Interestingly, they have failed to score a single goal as all the six (6) goals produced have gone in favour of the ‘Ogya Lads’.
The two-time Premier League winners have been impressive at home in their last five (5) matches. They won four (4) and drawn one (1) – scoring nine (9) and conceding only one (1).
Kotoko, on the other hand, have picked 10 points out of 15 in their last five (5) away matches – netting six (6) and conceding half of it.
Yahaya Mohammed, who has 10 goals from nine matches revealed in an interview Inter Allies forward Victorien Adebayor is giving him sleepless night with his scoring rate.
Moreover, he has declared his willingness to end the season as goal king and Kotoko could be his next victim on extending his goal tally.
Head coach for the Porcupines revealed they will be missing the services of Justice Blay who is battling malaria. His void should have been taken by Mudasiru Salifu and Kwame Adom but both players according to Maxwell Konadu will not be rushed into such a crunchy encounter since their recovery from injury is at the final stage.
A win for Aduana will see them leapfrog Kotoko and Ashanti Gold to claim the top spot while a win for the Porcupines, which looks less likely will push them to 21 points.
