Kumasi-based King Faisal is set to play their Premier League home games at Assin Fosu following the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium according to media reports.
The Youth and Sports Ministry together with the National Sports Authority placed a temporary ban on the venue due to Ghana’s 63rd Independence Anniversary celebrations, claiming renovation works is set to roll-out ahead of the ceremony.
This has however affected Premier League clubs such as Kotoko, Asokwa Deportivo and King Faisal who will have to find alternatives to honour their home matches.
Faisal, who have a match day 11 home game against Legon Cities on Wednesday has opted for the Assin Fosu park to play their home matches.
Though the management of the club is yet to officially announce to the public, reports claim Cities have already set out their journey to Kumasi and the latest development means the Royals will have change direction to the Assin township.
The venue is subject to approval by the Club Licensing Board, and if the green light is given, Faisal will play the rest of the home matches in the Central part of Ghana.
