DR Congo international Meschak Elia has been given provisional authorisation by Fifa to play again, while his contract dispute with his former club TP Mazembe and the Swiss club Young Boys who he signed for, is being looked into.
The 23-year-old was banned last November from all football-related activity by the DR Congo FA after he was accused of falsifying his age to win a contract with Young boys.
At the time he said he considered the decision to suspend him as “null and void” because he was never given the opportunity to be heard. He insisted all allegations against him were false.
TP Mazembe confirmed the news of Fifa’s decision on their website on Friday.
Elia featured in all four of DR Congo’s matches at last year’s Nations Cup finals in Egypt.
