The ‘Valentine’s Day’ day celebration in the town of Techiman will see extra buzz after Eleven Wonders came from behind to beat King Faisal 2-1 at the Nana Ohene Ameyaw Park in a hazy harmattan afternoon.
For Wonders, it is a sweet successive victory after producing the same score line against Great Olympics in Accra last week, and their fourth win of the season, while Faisal are without a win after 10 league games – producing six defeats and four draws.
It was the visitors who opened the scores through Osman Ibrahim on the 3rd minute after his shot ricochet a defender at the far left in the penalty box and bounced into the net for the first goal.
King Faisal looked quite comfortable after the goal and were looking to pick their first win of the season in grand style.
But the sail was quickly taken out from their win as the home side began asking all questions.
The lead was eventually cancelled on the stroke of half time through in-form Musa Sule as both teams headed for recess in a 1-1 all score lime.
Wonders came out the strongest of the two teams and finally grabbed the match winner through substitute Samuel Boakye on the 78th minute following a non-drop shot from the edge of the penalty box as the game ended 2-1 for Eleven Wonders.
The win pegs Wonders on the 9th spot with 13 points while King Faisal remain pitted at the bottom with only four points.
