Former Ethiopia international Moges Tadesse has died aged 26

The defender had been receiving treatment, partly funded by fellow players and clubs, after being injured in a crash two years ago.

He rose to fame as a youth player with Saint George SA and was promoted to the senior side by Serbian coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic who told the BBC he is ‘devastated’ by the news.

Tadesse won the national title with Saint George in 2008 before going on to play for several other teams including Adama City and Sidama Coffee

His debut for Ethiopia came in 2012.

He went on to win seven caps but missed out on Ethiopia’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations campaign despite being named in the provisional squad.
