Women’s Premier League: Kumasi Sports Academy Ladies coach lament over bad officiating

Head Coach of Kumasi Sports Academy, Charles Anokye has attributed his side’s defeat to Pearl Pia Ladies on Saturday to bad officiating.

The Kumasi based side despite their spirited performance succumbed to a 1-0 loss courtesy Alhassan Bintu’s third minute strike.

“Losing three points isn’t something I must be happy with considering how good my players were in today’s game. Officiating wasn’t the best and was the chief reason why we lost. There were so many instances the referee wasn’t on point but we have to take the result in good faith.” The disgruntled gaffer told the press after the game.

The coach was quick to add that his club has suffered similar fate in their previous games prior to Saturday’s game in Tamale.

“When we played against Northern Ladies in Tamale, officiating was bad even though we drew 1-1. At my back yard against Prison Ladies, officiating wasn’t the best and was worst in our game against Supreme Ladies.Officiating is militating against our our performance which is not helping us” to come out with our full strength to win games.” Anokye chimed in.

When asked whether Pearl Pia Ladies had the wherewithal to win the league, Anokye said it was early days yet. “We have played just four games. The league is young because we have ten games to play. Anything can happen.” He added.
