The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah on Wednesday, March 20 held bilateral talks with the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana, H E Tsuyormu Himeno when he called on the minister at his office in Accra.
During their interaction, Mr Asiamah made an appeal to the Japanese government to support sports infrastructural development in Ghana, especially the completion of a modern sports complex at Amasaman, a project which has stalled due to lack of funds.
According to him, the completion of the project will give opportunity to young people to develop their talents.
Mr Asiamah, on behalf of the government of Ghana, expressed gratitude to the Japanese government for the continual support to the sports sector over the years.
For his part, Ambassador Tsuyormu Himeno said he was looking forward to Ghanaian athletes chalking some wonderful successes at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
In attendance were Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Perry Okudzeto, Special Adviser to the Minister, Mr Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, GOC president, Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah and other executives of the GOC.
