Asante Kotoko combative midfielder Richard Senanu is set to be flown to Dubai to undergo surgery after suffering a ligament tier on his knee.
Senanu was stretched off in Kotoko’s Confederation Cup game against Zesco United in Kumasi and has since then struggled to regain full fitness, even though he has managed to trained with the rest of the squad a couple of times.
He will this be airlifted to the gulf region to undergo the knife as he seeks to bounce back to full fitness.
The cost of the surgery is estimated to cost around$16,000 and will be catered for by Kotoko’s insurance partner Hollard Insurance according to a report by Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM. He will thus be accompanied by a management.
Head of Medical team of Asante Kotoko then Dr Jerry Pratt Newton is quoted by the Kotoko express saying;
“He received a knock on his knee and ended up twisting it. Our checks revealed that he has suffered a ligament tore at the front and outer sides of his knee.”
