An impressive display from Ghanaian international Abdul Majeed Waris has earned him a spot among four players vying for ‘Player of the Month’ of January for FC Nantes.
The 27-year-old featured five times for the Ligue 1 side and scored twice the process – against Montpellier and Saint Etienne, taking his overall goal tally to five in the on-going season.
Waris face stiffer opposition from captain Valentin Rongier, solid and experience 31-year-old defender Nicolas Pallios and Malian international Charles Traore.
Nantes in the month of January played six matches picking two wins, three defeats and a draw – which leaves them 15th on the Ligue 1 league table with 24 points.
Waris has however made 13 starts for the Canaries in 21 appearance.
Voting closes on Thursday February 7 at 5pm.
