Former Vice President of the GFA, George Afriyie, has promised to revamp and ‘revolutionise’ the Communication Department of the FA if handed the mandate to lead the association come October 25.
George, who is one of the hot and favourite candidates to win the elections according to bookies launched his manifesto on Saturday in Sunyani at the Eusbett Hotel – dabbed ‘restoration’.
Openly supported by arguably the most successful club in Ghana, Asante Kotoko, and other Premier League clubs, have combined to throw their weight behind the owner of Okyeman Planners.
As part of his manifesto, George plans to improve the dissemination of information from the FA through the media to the general public, as well as engage all stakeholders, since communication has become a vital tool of reaching out to the masses.
“I will strengthen the GFA Communication Department by enhancing the current social media handles and introduce new platforms (YouTube) to effectively communicate with the world, ” Afriyie said during the launch if his manifesto.
“ In addition, I will introduce the GFA app so that at the click of a finger information from the FA especially behind the scenes content on FA activities and national team engagements could be accessed.
“These avenues will be monetized to complement the revenue generation efforts of the FA.
“I will introduce a PR unit within the department as well as Research and Data unit to enable us to put out accurate information and reliable statistics on everything we do,” he said.
The GFA elections is slated for October 25.
