Asante Kotoko clock GH¢15K from Black Stars freindly clash

Ghana premier league side Asante Kotoko SC pocketed a cool GH¢15,000 as their share of the gate proceeds from the friendly clash with the Black Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday, October 12, 2018.

The Kumasi based side suffered a 3-0 landslide defeat at the hands of the senior national team but have since been dashed with a handsome $3000 as part of their proceeds accumulated from the gates.

Goals from Majeed Waris, Emmanuel Boateng and Christian Atsu handed James Akwesi Appiah’s charges a resounding victory over the Kumasi based lads in the friendly clash.

Asante Kotoko and the National Sports Authority agreed to share the gate proceeds in a ration of 40:60 respectively ahead of the match with the record Ghana premier league champions amassing GH¢15000 at the end of the deductions.

The game was quickly organized to fill in for the 2019 AFCON clash between the Black Stars and the Leone Stars due to FIFA’s indefinite suspension of the SLFA from its membership.
